QICC-Advocates-employee-rights in partnership with ILO and Labor Ministry
Nov 28, 2018QICC advocates employee rights by being first company to implement in Qatar the pilot of the joint committee project thru International Labor Organization and Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs.
Mesaieed Industrial City, November 28, 2018 – With the aim to protect employee rights, QICC reached out to the International Labor Organization’s project office in Qatar to pilot the formation of a joint committee that will help upgrade the standard of working life for employees.
As part of this collaborative effort with the International Labor Organization and Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, QICC’s GCC HR and Admin Director, Karima Cherifi invited both organizations represented by Marie-José Tayah, ILO’s Technical Officer on Dispute Resolution and Mr. Mohammed Abdel Wahed Al Obaidly from Ministry of Labor to tour the facilities in QICC’s cable factory in Mesaieed and discuss the details of the formation of the joint committee.
This joint committee will provide an open communication between management and employees to solve any work-related issues and enhance the working conditions by letting the employees be heard through nomination of their spokesperson of choice and creation of grievance mechanisms.
